Like sumos, judokas stimulate STETBAY’s creativity. She admires the concentration, the movement and the spirit of this sport. She paints judokas with passion and success. She keeps a wonderful memory of the “stars” of French judo she met during her exhibit in l’Ile Saint Louis: Jean-Luc Rougé, François Besson, Brigitte Deydier, Thierry Rey and the three Atlanta gold-medallists: Marie-Claire Restoux, Djamel Bouras and David Douillet for whom she confesses she has a special liking. The life-size portrait she made of him with Delft blue successfully combines harmony, force, simplicity and purity. And according to David Douillet himself, movement, in STETBAY’s paintings, is perfectly expressed.
